TiHex Lite is a hex-based map creator that uses a limited version of a tileset by Zeshio.

TiHex was created as a way to create hex maps for games like DnD or just for fun in the browser.

The current features are:

  • Around 500 tiles to play with
  • Undo/Redo system for those pesky misclicks
  • Unlimited map size
  • Keyboard shortcuts to make your life easier
    • CTRL + Z : Undo
    • CRTL + Y : Redo
    • C : Completely erases the map
    • E : Toggles eraser

I made this as a side project to work on while I'm in college to show off some of the programming skills I've learned so far.

When I get the time and if this gets enough attention I'll remake this kind of tool into a full-scale downloaded program with the ability to save and load your maps as well as export them to pictures like PNG or JPG.

Thanks for checking TiHex out!

I think this has huge potential!

The only things it's missing in my opinion is the ability to rotate tiles and the possibility of importing your own.

Hoping this gets some traction, so you have an incentive to continue development.

Hey! Really love this tool, just wish that it had some of that future functionality that would make it more usable. If you ever decide that you don't feel like continuing development on it in future, would it be too bold of me to ask if you'd be willing to share the source? I'd be keen to do so myself, and it would actually be great to learn from too. If so—or even if I could just help—lemme know how I could get in contact (^:

In either case, awesome work. Really nice interface.

Very nice design! But the keyboard is not doing anything :/

Thanks for the feedback! I can't believe I missed something like that. It should be fixed now!
